Manisa, the second largest city in the Aegean region, has hosted many important civilizations, including the Lydians, Hittites, Phrygians, Ionians, Persians, Romans, Byzantines, Saruhanoğulları and the Ottoman Empire, who were the first to print and use money.

Manisa, which was founded on the skirts of Spi Mountain, which is very rich in terms of history, mythology and flora, was named Magnesia in the Ancient Age and Magnesia ad Sipylum in the Roman Empire.

Manisa, which became an administrative unit with its annexation to the Ottoman lands in 1412, became one of the political education centers where many Ottoman princes, including Fatih Sultan Mehmet and Suleiman the Magnificent, gained their sultanate experience between 1437-1595, and therefore it was called the "City of Princes". is still remembered today.
